How to get to Engineers’ House click

Route Options – By Road
Route One:

From London on the M4 and from the Midlands & North on the M5.  At M4 junction 20, take the M5 southward towards Avonmouth and Bristol West. Leave the M5 at Avonmouth (junction 18) and follow the A4 to Bristol.
After approx. 5 miles at traffic lights (just before the Clifton Suspension Bridge) turn sharp left up the hill (Bridge Valley Road) sign posted ‘Bristol Zoo’.  At the top of the hill turn right. Engineers’ House is about 500 metres along on your left-hand side.

Route Two:
From South Wales on the M4 / M49.  Once over the Second Severn Crossing on the M4, take junction 22 onto the M49 to Avonmouth.  Then take the A4 to Bristol. After approx. 5 miles at traffic lights (just before the Clifton Suspension Bridge) turn sharp left up the hill (Bridge Valley Road) sign posted ‘Bristol Zoo’.  At the top of the hill turn right. Engineers’ House is about 500 metres along on your left-hand side.

Route Three:
From the South West on the M5. Leave the M5 at junction 19 (Gordano Services). Take the A369 to Bristol West & Clifton.  After approx 4 miles turn left at the sign for Clifton (toll).  Cross the Suspension Bridge (at present 50p toll) and take the first left turn.  Bear left at the next junction and Engineers’ House is about 100 metres along on your right-hand side.

Route Four:
From Bath on the A4 or Wells on the A37.  On reaching Bristol follow signs for the City Centre.  After the junction with the A4/A37 (The 3 Lamps) move into the left-hand lane after the bus lane ends and turn left at the roundabout into York Road (signed A4 Avonmouth).  At the next roundabout take the second exit, keeping the river on your right hand side.  Follow signs for A4 Avonmouth.  As you pass under the Clifton Suspension Bridge, move into the right-hand lane.  Turn right at traffic lights up the hill (Bridge Valley Road) sign posted ‘Bristol Zoo’.  At the top of the hill turn right.  Engineers’ House is about 500 metres along on your left-hand side.

Parking: Please note that there is space for 40 cars in the car park.  If all spaces are taken, it is free to park all day on The Promenade.

To Bristol by Rail:
Book your tickets to ‘Bristol Temple Meads’.  This is close to the City Centre and the three mile journey to Engineers’ House is best made by taxi.
